Transdisciplinary PhD Programme

The programme connects UniTrento PhD candidates whose research crosses physics, mathematics, information science, computation and engineering. It provides a shared environment for quantum science and technology alongside each candidate’s main doctorate.

Research across disciplines

Quantum technologies bring together fundamental quantum science, experimental platforms, mathematical methods, information theory and engineering. The transdisciplinary programme connects these perspectives so that doctoral projects can develop beyond the boundaries of a single field.

Candidates remain enrolled in their UniTrento doctoral programme while taking part in the Q@TN research environment. Their work addresses topics relevant to the consortium and may involve collaboration with its international project partners.

What the programme adds

Alongside their main doctorate, candidates complete at least 18 ECTS in quantum science and technology and take part in Q@TN seminars and workshops. Candidates who fulfil the programme requirements may receive the additional title Expertus in Quantum Science and Technology.
