What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website places on the device of the visitor, where they are stored in order to be transmitted back to the same website on subsequent visits. They can be used for technical purposes, such as keeping a session active, or for tracking and profiling purposes.
Which cookies this website uses
This website uses technical cookies only. Technical cookies are those strictly necessary to operate the website and to deliver the service explicitly requested by the visitor; under Article 122 of Legislative Decree 196/2003 they do not require the prior consent of the user.
The technical cookies that may be set are generated by the WordPress content management system on which the website is built and belong to the following families:
- session and authentication cookies (
wordpress_*,wordpress_logged_in_*,wp-settings-*): set only for registered users who log in to the administration area, in order to keep the session active and store editing preferences; - technical verification cookie (
wordpress_test_cookie): used to check whether the browser accepts cookies during the login procedure; - comment cookies (
comment_author_*): set only if a visitor posts a comment and chooses to have their details remembered, so that they do not have to be entered again; - presentation and caching cookies: used by the theme and by the caching system to deliver pages correctly and efficiently.
These cookies are first-party cookies: they are set by the domain quantumtrento.eu and are not shared with third parties.
What this website does not use
This website does not use profiling cookies, advertising cookies, social network sharing or tracking widgets, and does not use analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager or Meta Pixel. No visitor profiling activity is carried out and no data collected on this website are transferred to third parties for marketing purposes.
Third-party resources
Some presentation resources of the website are retrieved from external content delivery networks. These resources do not set cookies on the visitor device, but the request necessarily discloses the visitor IP address, the type of browser and the page from which the request originates to the provider of the resource:
- Google Fonts (
fonts.googleapis.com), operated by Google Ireland Limited, used to load the typefaces of the website. Information on the processing carried out by the provider is available in the Google Privacy Policy; - jsDelivr (
cdn.jsdelivr.net), a public content delivery network used to load software libraries required for the correct display of the pages.
These resources are functional to the correct presentation of the website. The University of Trento is progressively migrating them to local hosting in order to minimise the communication of data to third parties.
How to manage and delete cookies
Since only technical cookies are used, no consent banner is displayed. Visitors may nevertheless manage or delete cookies at any time through the settings of their browser, which normally allow cookies to be blocked, deleted or restricted for individual websites. Instructions are available in the support pages of the browser in use. Please note that disabling technical cookies may prevent some functions of the website, in particular access to the administration area, from working correctly.
Most browsers also offer a private or incognito browsing mode, in which cookies are deleted at the end of the session, and the possibility of sending a “Do Not Track” preference to visited websites.
